Middlesex Eye Physicians now is an Optical Apprentice for our Middletown and East Haven locations.
We are looking for a motivated candidate with experience who is focused on the continued growth in their optical career. As an Optical Apprentice at Middlesex Eye Physicians, you will assist the licensed opticians in our Middletown and East Haven Optical Shops. The Middletown Optical Shop will be the primary work location; however, this position may require periodic hours in our East Haven Optical Shop.
The general duties of this role are to assist the opticians in the duties below which may expand as you gain experience:
- Frame stylist
- Assisting with the management of glasses deliveries
- Inventory management including assistance in placing contact lens trials
- Patient communications including delivery notifications, prescription verification, and assisting with scheduling appointments
- Regular training to expand the your skill set including but not limited to optical lab duties including edging, glasses lens selection, and contact lens product knowledge

Skills/Qualifications:
Looking for an individual who is currently working as an optical apprentice with 1-3 years of experience with a strong work ethic who works well in a team environment, has solid organization skills, is prompt, reliable, and the ability to multi-task. Prior customer service experience is a plus. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus).

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.0 – 40.0 per week
