American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.

Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) in a large, short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
-
High-acuity cardiac ICU patient population requiring experienced, knowledgeable RN care
-
Patient ratio averages 1:2 on both day and night shifts
-
Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring is utilized in this unit
-
Charting performed using Epic EMR
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
-
Every other weekend is required
-
Floating required to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs to meet facility needs
-
No on-call requirements

Block scheduling is not available for this position
-
Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted for consideration)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required

Proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring required

Experience at a large Trauma Center facility required

Clean nursing license required — no prior disciplinary actions on record

Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted

COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions considered

First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position

Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
-
RTO of up to 7 days may be approved automatically; requests exceeding 7 days require additional facility approval
-
Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
-
One professional reference is required for consideration
