Job Title: Cigar Tender

Position Summary
Bourbon Leaf is seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and customer-focused Cigar Tender to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for premium cigars, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for both seasoned aficionados and newcomers. As a Cigar Tender, you’ll guide guests through our premium cigar selection while providing an elevated retail and lounge experience.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and provide outstanding customer service.
Educate customers on cigar brands, blends, wrappers, strengths, and flavor profiles.
Recommend cigars based on customer preferences, experience level, and pairing interests.
Assist guests with bourbon and cigar pairing recommendations when appropriate.
Maintain proper humidor conditions, organize inventory, and rotate stock.
Process retail sales accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Restock merchandise and keep displays clean, organized, and visually appealing.
Ensure the lounge and retail areas remain clean, comfortable, and inviting.
Verify guest age and comply with all tobacco sales laws and company policies.
Support special events, cigar tastings, and educational experiences.
Work collaboratively with the Bourbon Leaf team to provide exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications
Previous retail, hospitality, or cigar lounge experience preferred.
Knowledge of premium cigars and tobacco products is strongly preferred; willingness to learn is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships with guests and provide personalized recommendations.
Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of bourbon, whiskey, or premium spirits.
Experience maintaining cigar humidors.
Sales experience with a focus on customer engagement.
Passion for premium cigars and cigar culture.
