Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of government contracting accounting practices and hands-on experience with Deltek systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in payroll, billing, pricing, budgeting, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting within a government contracting environment. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an office setting.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Process and review payroll activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Prepare and manage customer billings in accordance with government contract requirements.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and pricing activities.

Support proposal pricing and cost analysis for government contracts.

Monitor project budgets and analyze budget-to-actual variances.

Maintain accurate financial records and support audits and compliance reviews.

Perform account reconciliations and analyze variances.

Ensure compliance with FAR, DCAA, and other government contracting regulations.

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Collaborate with project managers and leadership on contract financial performance.

Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

4–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in government contracting.

Strong experience using Deltek software (Costpoint preferred).

Solid knowledge of:
- Payroll processing
- Billing and invoicing
- Budgeting, forecasting, and pricing
- General Ledger (GL)
- Month-end and year-end close
- Understanding of government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work onsite in a professional office environment.
