Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Insurance Defense Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys in managing insurance defense cases, ensuring efficient case progression, and maintaining meticulous legal documentation. Your expertise will help streamline litigation processes, facilitate effective communication with clients and witnesses, and uphold the highest standards of legal support. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with case management for insurance defense matters, including personal injury, workers' compensation, and general litigation cases
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and correspondence with precision and clarity
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed, indexed, and accessible for litigation purposes
- Coordinate depositions, interviews with witnesses, and court filings while adhering to procedural law requirements
- Support attorneys with project management tasks related to complex cases involving estate planning, environmental law, or tribal regulations as needed
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks including calendaring deadlines, tracking case progress, and preparing reports
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and consistency; transcribe dictations accurately to assist attorneys’ workflow
- Provide executive administrative support by managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence efficiently
Requirements
- Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a law office setting with a focus on litigation or insurance defense cases
- Extensive knowledge of procedural law, legal drafting, document review, and case management practices
- Familiarity with document management systems like iManage; strong organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously
- Experience supporting attorneys in various practice areas including personal injury law, workers' compensation law, general & commercial litigation, or estate planning is highly desirable
- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail; ability to proofread and transcribe accurately
- Strong interviewing skills for witness statements; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and phone etiquette
- Salary dependent on experience.
