The Fulton Theatre is seeking applicants for Full-Time Wig Supervisor:
Job Summary:
- Work with the Wig Designer and Wardrobe Supervisor throughout the production to organize, and maintain hair, wigs, and makeup for performances.
- Set up quick changes during performances as they pertain to wig needs.
- Assist actors with getting into and out of wigs during productions.
- Maintain wig designs as needed between performances.
- Notifying Wardrobe Supervisor of material needs, such as restocking hairspray or any specifics of the productions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Costume Shop Manager, Wardrobe Supervisor, and the Production Team to prep wig packages for all performance venues.
- help to organize, inventory, label, and load out all wig, hair, and makeup materials for all performances.
- Organize and maintain needed paperwork for shows.
- Assist with seeing that the wig and makeup designs are maintained with artistic integrity through the production.
- Work with the Stage Manager and production staff during technical rehearsals to incorporate last minute changes.
- Correctly cleaning and storing of wigs for future use.
- Become knowledgeable with all Fulton Theatre policies and procedures.
- Work with the entire team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skill + Work Experience Requirements
- Experience as a theatrical technician, specifically a Wig or Wardrobe position.
- Experience in hair styling.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Google Drive - or ability to pick it up quickly.
- Ability to work alongside the production staff as a team member in an ever-changing environment
- Ability to work independently with self-motivation and attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, recognize and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.
- Commitment to working with and in cross-functional teams.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced work environment.
- Frequent long intervals of walking, standing, bending, and lifting.
- Evening and weekend work.
