Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. As a Lead Painter, you will be responsible for overseeing painting projects from start to finish, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate painting crews to complete projects efficiently, safely, and to client specifications
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through sanding, caulking, plastering, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and color schemes to execute precise painting plans
- Apply paint using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and construction spray), and the use of power tools
- Manage surface preparation for construction sites, including patching, priming, and coating applications on walls, ceilings, fixtures, and structural elements
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection and following safety protocol adherence at all times
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance using visual color comparison tools and technical standards
- Maintain tools and equipment such as hand tools, paint sprayers, ladders, scaffolding, and other construction-related tools
Skills
- Extensive experience in residential and commercial painting projects with a strong understanding of construction site procedures
- Proficiency in construction estimating related to paint quantities and project timelines
- Deep knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques including caulking, fixture installation, plastering, and remodeling tasks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately for precise application
- Familiarity with safety regulations specific to construction painting environments including respiratory protection protocols
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional spraying), and other equipment efficiently
- Strong understanding of coating types suitable for various surfaces and environmental conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area and material needs
- Hands-on experience with renovation projects involving maintenance work or handyman tasks
