Instrumentation Fitter - Electrical

Functionally Reports into
Superintendent
The Instrumentation Fitter will work with both electrical and piping systems to install the required tubing and instruments for the system to be measured and/or controlled.
EXPERIENCE
-
Must have the knowledge and ability to read and understand drawings, loop sheets, P&ID’s, and specifications

Lay out, fabricate, and assemble instrumentation system components
-
Prepares and installs instruments and instrumentation systems
-
Calculate required sizes and angles of piping or tubing using arithmetic and mathematical formulas
-
Fabricate pipe or tubing hangers and supports
-
Fabricate and assemble instrument panel boards and stands, including mounting instruments, controls, and switches
-
Fabricate and erect trays and supports, including cutting, drilling holes, and filling
-
Prepare and install conduit and small bore threaded pipe, including measuring, cutting and threading conduit and pipe, making up joints, installing brackets, hangers and other structural parts

Prepare and install tubing, including measuring, cutting to length, bending, bracing, and connecting with unions
-
Install instrument panels as well as panels, pipe, and field mounted instruments.

Must be NCCER Certified and have TDLR.

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Must pass drug test and background check.

Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, talk, and hear, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands.

Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.

May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.

Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
