Position Overview
Kinneret Day School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Mathematics Teacher for grades 5 through 8. The ideal candidate will support the lead math teacher in delivering a rigorous and engaging mathematics curriculum, provide small group instruction, and help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters students’ mathematical confidence and competence.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the lead mathematics teacher to implement daily lessons aligned with school and state standards
Provide support to individual students and small groups during class activities and assessments
Assist with grading assignments, tracking student progress, and maintaining records
Support classroom management and organization
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
Foster a respectful, positive classroom culture aligned with Kinneret’s values
Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and families as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred or in progress)
Prior teaching or assistant teaching experience, especially in middle school math, is strongly preferred
Strong understanding of middle school math concepts (including pre-algebra and algebra)
Enthusiasm for working with adolescents and supporting their academic growth
Collaborative, flexible, and reflective teaching approach
Familiarity with differentiated instruction and varied learning styles

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
