We are a busy and well-established auto body shop, looking to add a dedicated and experienced Parts Manager to join our team. If you're an organized professional with a background in parts management and a passion for the automotive industry, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the movement of all parts from receipt to installation in the shop, ensuring smooth operations at all times.
- Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Accurately post all shop invoices and handle credits and core charges on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Monitor and manage vendor discounts to maximize savings for the shop.
- Communicate professionally with staff and vendors to ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner.
- Follow up with vendors to ensure the status of pending orders and credits.
- Inspect parts for defects or damages upon receipt and ensure timely returns if necessary.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent parts availability and competitive pricing.
- Expedite parts or find alternative sources when there are delays or issues obtaining specific parts.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and organization of parts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all orders.
- Proactively return unused parts and ensure that credits are applied to repair orders.
- Collaborate with technicians and estimators to ensure parts are available when needed for repairs.
- Post invoices and credit memos in the shop’s management system promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an automotive parts department or as a Parts Manager.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with vendors, staff, and customers.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and repair processes.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills to stay on track with parts orders and inventory management.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and represent the shop positively.
