Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage and Food & Beverage Manager
Purpose for the Position:
A bartender has a diverse set of responsibilities related to taking food and beverage orders, preparing and serving beverages, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Essential Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.

Take food and drink orders, engage with customers, and make recommendations based on their preferences.

Ensure a positive and friendly atmosphere at the bar.
Beverage Preparation:

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.

Prepare garnishes and ensure that drinks are visually appealing.

Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines and check identification to verify the legal drinking age.
Menu Knowledge:

Have a comprehensive understanding of the drink menu, including specials and promotions.

Provide information on ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens to customers.
Cash Handling:

Process customer payments accurately, handling cash and operating POS systems.

Maintain accurate tabs for customers.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:

Keep the bar area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift.

Perform regular cleaning tasks, including washing glassware, utensils, and bar equipment.
Compliance with Regulations:

Adhere to all local and state regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.

Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Upselling and Promotion

Promote daily specials, events, and promotions to increase sales.

Upsell premium or specialty drinks when appropriate.
Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and management.

Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and coordinated service.
Qualifications:

Previous bartending experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of responsible alcohol service practices.

Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling.

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol.

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy trays.
