<p><u><b>Summary</b></u></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Job Description:</b></u></p><p><b><u>Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR</u></b></p><p>Full Time I First Shift </p><p>Surgical Services I Lexington, KY</p><p></p><p></p><p>Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.</p><p></p><p><b>Description Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR:</b></p><ul><li>At the direction of management and/or nursing personnel, assists the hospital staff/department in the provision of high quality, safe patient care</li><li>Provides basic physical care of the patient.</li><li>Demonstrates safe patient transport with stretcher, wheelchairs, and patient beds.</li><li>Performs tasks and procedures as directed according to hospital policy and procedure.</li><li>Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique.</li><li>Ensures positive customer relations interactions.</li><li>Actively participates in unit activities.</li><li>Aid in Surgical Procedures and certain basic circulating functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room.</li><li><span>On Call required-weeknights, weekends, and holidays picked by rotation.</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Requirements Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR:</b></p><ul><li>High School Diploma and/or Equivalent.</li><li>Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation.</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
