FULL TIME POSITION OPENING
Position Location: Maintenance Department
We are looking for the perfect person to join Zoosiana's Maintenance Department.
This is an incredibly important role and it has numerous responsibilities, some of which include:
- Maintaining and using various light- and heavy- duty equipment
- Maintaining and using power tools and lawn care devices
- Working on and troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, and carpentry projects
- Working on grounds, landscaping, and grooming projects
- Experience with or knowledge of welding is a plus
The ideal person can troubleshoot engines and equipment, work well in all weather conditions (outside for most of the job), and can assess, approach, and solve facility maintenance related issues that may develop.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work outdoors
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Must have basic plumbing skills
- Must have basic electrical skills
- Must have basic carpentry skills
- Must know how to use power tools
- Must be able to use lawn equipment
- Must be able to paint
- Must be safety conscious
- Must be organized
- Must be dependable
- Must NOT be afraid to get dirty
Successful applicants will be able to fulfill the multiple duties and responsibilities assigned to the Maintenance Department. Some of those duties include, but are not limited to, repairs and maintenance in all zoo areas, cleaning, grounds keeping, and a variety of projects. This is an out-of-doors position that requires progress in most weather elements (rain, cold, etc.).
