Job Overview
We are seeking a Construction Accountant to join our team and elevate or financial capabilities. As a Construction Accountant, you will oversee financial operations related to construction activities, ensuring accurate reporting, job-cost management, and compliance with industry standards. Your proactive approach will help optimize project budgets, improve financial controls, and support strategic decision-making across our organization.
Duties
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage month-end closing activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial report writing.
- Oversee weekly payroll and accounts payable functions.
- Manage and analyze project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and project timelines.
- Perform detailed cost accounting analysis to monitor expenses, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Review financial reports, including cash flow analysis, balance sheets, and income statements tailored for construction projects.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes specific to construction contracts and vendor payments.
- Utilize and maintain an ERP system - Acumatica
- Support forecasting efforts by analyzing historical data using spreadsheets and business intelligence tools to predict future project costs and revenues.
Requirements
- Proven accounting experience within the manufacturing or construction industry with a strong understanding of cost accounting principles and W.I.P.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct or Similar ERP systems.
- Strong data analysis skills utilizing Excel data analysis tools, spreadsheets, and business intelligence platforms.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and technical accounting concepts applicable to construction projects.
- Experience with financial report writing, interpretation of complex financial data, and cost management strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting financial insights clearly.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
