American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment on a busy oncology and general surgery unit requiring at least one year of recent acute care Med/Surg experience.

Work on an 8T oncology and general surgery Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
-
24-bed unit staffed with a primary nursing care model
-
Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and an admin care tech
-
Night shift includes 1 charge nurse and 5 nurses when fully staffed
-
Typical patient ratio is 1:5, though not guaranteed
-
Uses Meditech EMR
-
Remote telemetry patients are monitored on the unit alongside oncology patients
-
Vital signs performed every 8 hours, with remote tele patients monitored every 4 hours
-
Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

13-week assignment length

Active KS or compact RN license required
-
Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required

BLS certification required
-
Chemotherapy/ONC certification preferred, and required for RNs administering chemotherapy

ACLS preferred
-
No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)

One professional reference required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Provide standard Med/Surg nursing care with a focus on oncology, including chemotherapy administration for chemo-certified nurses
