Duties
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of food preparation and cooking on the line, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of dishes.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food handling, knife skills, and meal assembly to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
- Collaborate with menu planners to execute innovative dishes that meet guest expectations and uphold restaurant standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling practices at all times.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Train new team members in culinary techniques, safety procedures, and service standards to foster a skilled and motivated team.
- Assist with catering events and special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dietary department settings or dietary aide roles is highly desirable.
- Extensive culinary experience in restaurant or food industry environments with a focus on fine dining or catering is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning, and food safety regulations.
- Exceptional knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment with excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with food handling procedures, meal preparation, and serving standards across diverse settings.
