Description of job:
SnapCare is seeking a skilled and dependable Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Care team at Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT. In this role, you will deliver high‑quality respiratory care to patients across various acuity levels while supporting positive patient outcomes through evidence‑based practice.
This position requires strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to work independently during night shifts, and flexibility to work every other weekend as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
- Current BLS certification
- NRP certification preferred
- Active Connecticut Respiratory Therapist license
- Strong understanding of respiratory care protocols, ventilator management, and patient monitoring
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and time‑management skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory assessments and therapeutic interventions
- Manage and monitor ventilated patients and respiratory equipment
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory modalities
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care plans
- Monitor patient response and adjust care as appropriate
- Document respiratory care accurately in the medical record
- Maintain patient safety and comply with all hospital policies and standards
