Seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in Excavators and Bulldozers to join our infrastructure construction team. This role focuses primarily on site preparation, utility digging, and precise grading for new residential home developments. Because we utilize high-precision technology to build master-planned subdivisions, experience operating machines equipped with Trimble GPS grade control systems is preferred.
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Safely and efficiently operate medium-to-large excavators and bulldozers on active residential infrastructure sites.
- GPS Grade Control: Utilize Trimble GPS systems in-cab to execute rough and fine grading, cutting, and filling to exact design specifications.
- Trenching & Utilities: Dig precise, on-grade trenches for sewer mains, water lines, and storm drains using digital models and grade stakes.
- Mass Grading: Clear land, move bulk earth, and finish-grade residential roadways, driveways, and building pads.
- Daily Maintenance: Conduct mandatory pre-shift safety inspections, grease tracks/pivots, check fluids, and ensure Trimble components (receivers/screens) are secure and clean.
- Ground Coordination: Work closely with pipe layers, grade checkers, and site foremen.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of [1+] years of dedicated experience operating excavators and dozers. Infrastructure and subdivision projects is a plus.
- Trimble Proficiency: Knowledge and use of Trimble GPS grade control systems to cut and fill to grade independently.
- Technical Skill: The ability to read civil blueprints, interpret site stakes, and troubleshoot basic GPS screen orientations.
- License: Valid, clean driver’s license with reliable transportation to various job sites.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, climb on/off heavy machinery, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to OSHA excavation, trenching, and sloping safety regulations.
