Clay Today is seeking a part-time Legal Advertising & Public Notice Specialist to work from our Fleming Island office.
This position combines customer service, legal/public notice administration, and business development. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and comfortable communicating by phone and email with attorneys, paralegals, governmental agencies, businesses, and other legal notice customers.
Position Details
- Part-time: approximately 15–20 hours per week
- Pay: $15–$20 per hour, depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming legal and public notices.
- Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, governmental agencies, businesses, and other customers regarding publication needs.
- Review notice instructions, deadlines, publication dates, and required information for accuracy.
- Coordinate proofs, publication schedules, affidavits, and related documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of notices, customers, deadlines, and correspondence.
- Respond to inbound calls and emails from existing and prospective customers.
- Make outbound calls and emails to develop new legal and public notice business.
- Build relationships with attorneys, law firms, governmental agencies, municipalities, and other organizations that regularly place public notices.
- Help grow legal/public notice business for both Clay County and the Ponte Vedra/St. Johns County market.
- Follow up with former and prospective customers to encourage repeat business.
Preferred Qualifications
We are especially interested in candidates with:
- Paralegal or legal-office experience
- Experience working with legal documents, court filings, deadlines, or attorneys
- Inbound and outbound phone sales experience
- Strong customer-service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A high level of accuracy
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Professional telephone and email communication
- Comfort making outbound prospecting calls
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
Previous newspaper or legal advertising experience is helpful, but not required. Training will be provided.
