We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Maintenance Professional to oversee and maintain our property in Sylva, NC. This is a department of one, you must be capable of managing your own time, prioritizing projects by urgency, and working independently while ensuring high standards across the property.
The Maintenance Professional will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall condition of the properties by performing daily maintenance tasks and coordinating contractor work when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance operations across the property.
- Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly to minimize guest impact.
- Manage outside contractors and vendors as needed, ensuring quality and cost control.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and property guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with property managers and staff regarding repair needs and project timelines.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in hotel, property, or facility maintenance management.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple properties.
- Experience supervising or coordinating contractors and outside vendors.
- Must provide own tools.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Respond to emergency calls during and after business hours.
Physical Requirements & Essential Functions:
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead
- Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail
Compensation & Benefits:
- $20 to $30 per hour based on experience.
