At the Hampton Inn & Suites Fargo Medical Center, we're looking for a Maintenance Engineer who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly and looking their best.

From repairing guest room items and maintaining building systems to balancing pool chemicals and ensuring a safe environment for our guests, you'll help keep our hotel operating at its highest level.

What You'll DoMaintain the Property
- Perform repairs and maintenance throughout guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues
- Respond promptly to guest and team member maintenance requests
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, equipment, doors, locks, lighting, and other hotel assets
- Assist with room renovations, painting, and improvement projects
Lead Maintenance Operations
- Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance work orders
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain maintenance logs, records, and compliance documentation
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to prevent failures
- Assist with vendor coordination and service appointments
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
Pool & Spa Operations
- Maintain the hotel's swimming pool and whirlpool/spa to ensure a safe and enjoyable guest experience
- Test, monitor, and balance pool and spa chemicals in accordance with health department regulations and Hilton standards
- Maintain daily pool logs and water testing documentation
- Monitor pool equipment, pumps, filtration systems, and heating systems
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance of pool equipment as needed
- Ensure pool and pool deck areas remain clean, safe, and guest-ready at all times
Protect the Guest Experience
- Ensure guest rooms and public spaces are safe, clean, and in excellent condition
- Maintain hotel curb appeal and overall property appearance
- Support hotel renovations, projects, and capital improvements
- Work closely with housekeeping and front desk teams to resolve guest concerns quickly and effectively
- Help ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards and quality expectations
Safety & Compliance
- Assist with life safety inspections and testing
- Maintain compliance with hotel, brand, and local regulations
- Ensure fire safety systems, emergency lighting, exit signage, and safety equipment are functioning properly
- Promote a safe working environment for guests and team members
- Participate in emergency response procedures when needed
What We're Looking For
- Experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of:
- HVAC systems
- Plumbing systems
- Electrical systems
- General carpentry and repairs
- Preventative maintenance programs
- Pool and spa operations, including chemical balancing and water testing
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Ability to provide occasional on-call support for emergencies
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or Chief Engineer experience preferred
- HVAC certification is a plus
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification is a plus
- Experience maintaining commercial swimming pools and spas preferred
- Knowledge of Hilton brand standards is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
