Day Hospitalist Physician – 7-On/7-Off Schedule
HealthYes Staffing Network is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine Physician for a permanent Day Hospitalist position with an established regional medical center in Southeast Alabama, near the Florida Panhandle and Southwest Georgia.
This is a full-time, daytime position built around a manageable round-and-go model . The typical census is 18–20 patients, primarily consisting of the physician’s rounding list—not 18–20 patients plus a full admissions workload. A dedicated admitter handles routine admissions each day.
Although the ICU is open, three Intensivists are onsite during the day and manage higher-acuity care, ventilators, and procedures.

Hospitalist Workload and ICU Coverage
The primary responsibility of the Day Hospitalist is rounding and ongoing inpatient medical management. A dedicated admitter is assigned each day to manage routine admissions.
The hospital operates an open ICU model. Hospitalists may complete applicable ICU admissions and provide general medical management for less-acute ICU patients. Three daytime Intensivists manage higher-acuity patients, ventilator care, procedures, and other critical-care needs.
Responsibilities
- Round on and manage an average daily list of approximately 18–20 adult patients
- Develop inpatient treatment, discharge, and follow-up plans
- Coordinate care with Intensivists, specialists, nurses, case managers, and Internal Medicine residents
- Provide general medical management for appropriate ICU patients
- Complete applicable ICU admissions when required
- Participate in inpatient code response during scheduled coverage
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Support clinical quality and performance-improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for an unrestricted Alabama medical license
- Comfortable managing a broad range of adult inpatient conditions
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
- New graduates and experienced Hospitalists are encouraged to apply
