Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our breakfast crew! Start time is 6am, so you must enjoy working mornings and having afternoons and evenings free. Saturdays and Sundays required. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly. You will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and knives safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
- Participate in daily cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or food service is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Proficient knife skills and experience with various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- A background as a dietary aide or in a dietary department is a plus but not required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
