Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent / Senior Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through completion. This individual will manage field operations, scheduling, estimating, subcontractor coordination, quality control, client communication, and project financial performance.
Because we are a growing company, this leader should be comfortable contributing across multiple areas of the business while helping develop systems that allow Bridgeline Construction to scale.
This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and plays a key leadership role within the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership
- Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Mentor field staff, foremen, assistant project managers, and subcontractors
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, professionalism, and teamwork
- Identify opportunities to improve company processes and operational efficiency
- Help establish scalable systems as the company grows
Project Management
- Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Develop and maintain project schedules
- Monitor budgets and job cost reports
- Manage RFIs, submittals, ASIs, change orders, and closeout documentation
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, inspectors, and municipalities
- Maintain accurate project documentation
- Ensure contract compliance
- Identify project risks early and proactively develop solutions
Field Operations
- Oversee daily field operations
- Conduct jobsite meetings
- Ensure work meets company quality standards
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors
- Verify manpower requirements
- Maintain production schedules
- Ensure OSHA compliance and enforce jobsite safety
- Perform punch walks and final quality inspections
Estimating & Preconstruction
Candidates should possess strong estimating experience and be comfortable assisting with:
- Quantity takeoffs
- Scope reviews
- Bid leveling
- Value engineering
- Budget development
- Vendor and subcontractor solicitation
- Cost estimating for residential and commercial projects
- GMP and negotiated project budgeting
- Assist with proposal preparation when needed
Financial Oversight
- Review project profitability
- Monitor committed costs
- Approve subcontractor invoices
- Forecast monthly cash flow
- Track change orders and pending revenue
- Assist with project buyout
- Help maximize project profitability
Client Relations
- Build long-term relationships with clients
- Provide exceptional communication throughout each project
- Conduct owner meetings
- Manage expectations proactively
- Resolve issues professionally
- Represent Bridgeline Construction with integrity and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of construction management experience
- Experience as a Superintendent, Project Manager, or combination of both
- Strong background in commercial and/or residential construction
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Estimating experience preferred
- Understanding of prevailing wage projects is a plus
- Experience with public works is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of scheduling software and project management platforms
- Knowledge of California building codes and permitting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
