Experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant – Join Our Dedicated Team
We are a busy, privately owned, 8-doctor small animal practice located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, with a satellite clinic in Washington, PA. Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join us. A veterinary technician license is preferred but not required.
About the Role
As a key member of our clinical team, you will assist with a variety of medical, surgical, and administrative responsibilities, including:
- Reviewing and accurately entering patient medical records
- Preparing and dispensing medications
- Safely restraining animals for exams and procedures
- Assisting veterinarians during surgeries, including patient prep, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleanings
- Maintaining detailed anesthesia and surgical records
- Preparing and sterilizing surgical packs
- Collecting and processing samples for diagnostics with minimal patient stress
- Performing in-house lab tests (radiographs, CBCs, blood chemistries, urinalysis, 4DX, FELV/FIV, cultures, etc.)
- Providing inpatient care, including administering treatments, IV fluids, medications, and nutrition
- Educating clients on home care, medication use, and post-procedure instructions
- Managing patient information, scheduling, and communication using practice management software
- Preparing and submitting samples to external laboratories
- Maintaining clean, stocked exam and treatment areas
- Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
- Assisting at the front desk as needed, including greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and ensuring a welcoming, professional client experience

Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant required
- Proficient in patient restraint, lab work, and surgical assistance
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Compassionate, professional, and dependable
- Comfortable using veterinary software (training provided)
- Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred but not required

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
