We are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking construction leader to oversee and grow our construction operations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with extensive experience managing large-scale residential projects, leading high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence. The Vice President of Construction and Operations will play a key role in shaping company strategy, improving processes, and ensuring successful project delivery across multiple markets.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute strategic initiatives that support company growth and operational success.
- Help build, mentor, and manage a strong team of project managers and superintendents.
- Partner with Project Coordinators to oversee architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
- Direct construction operations from planning through completion while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations, building codes, and environmental requirements.
- Review and manage project financials, including profit and loss performance, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Support business development efforts and cultivate strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners.
- Provide leadership and support to field teams to promote accountability, productivity, and workplace safety.
- Implement operational and process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align project execution with client expectations and company goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of construction project management experience.
- Proven experience overseeing large-scale construction projects with budgets exceeding $20 million.
- Strong background in multifamily and residential home construction.
- Previous senior leadership experience within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning, operations management, and business growth.
- Strong financial management skills with experience overseeing project profitability.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development abilities.
- Knowledge of process improvement practices and operational efficiency strategies.
- Results-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality projects.
Position Requirements
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites
- Comfortable working in both office and active construction site environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must have reliable transportation; mileage reimbursement is provided.
