Seasonal Student Move-In Mover Job Summary
We are seeking dependable and energetic Seasonal Movers to assist with a large student housing move-in event. Team members will help unload, transport, organize, and deliver student belongings while providing a positive and efficient move-in experience. This is a physically demanding, short-term position that requires teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Lift, carry, and move boxes, furniture, and personal belongings throughout student housing facilities.
- Pack, organize, and label items as needed for transportation or storage.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Deliver belongings to assigned rooms or designated locations.
- Work as part of a team to complete move-in assignments on schedule.
- Follow safety procedures to prevent injury and protect student property.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with students, families, and staff.
- Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the event.
- Perform other move-in related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb stairs, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work scheduled shifts.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous moving, warehouse, or labor experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of boxes and household items.
- Repeated use of stairs while transporting belongings.
- Ability to work on your feet for 8–12 hour shifts.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in moving, logistics, warehouse operations, or event setup.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
Schedule
- Seasonal/Temporary
- Full-time shifts available during the student move-in period
- Overtime may be available depending on event needs
