Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on various vehicle components including powertrain systems, transmissions, diesel engines, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Execute routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and wheel alignments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools to complete repairs efficiently and safely.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on GM vehicles and other makes.
- Repair or replace vehicle parts such as engines, transmissions, axles, electrical wiring, and suspension components while adhering to safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering recommendations for ongoing vehicle maintenance or service needs.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment procedures, and auto estimating software is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude complemented by familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication.
- Valid mechanic license or certification preferred; prior experience working with GM vehicles is a plus.
