Description:
Position Purpose:
In accordance with the Mission and GuidingBehaviors; the Nurse Educator, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, functions within the standards, policies,procedures and guidelines of the organization. The Nurse Educatorprovides consultation and education to patients, families, staff and physiciansregarding the care of patients, assumes a leadership role in issues relating to patient care and acts as a change agent to support institutional initiativespertaining to the care of patients.
WhatYouWillDo:
- Assesses the learning needs of associates within patient care settingsin order to plan, organize,coordinate andparticipate in development and/or teaching of programs to meet thoseidentified needs.
- Acts as a resource for staffregarding critical thinking, equipmentuse and problem solvingregarding clinical situations.
- Develops, reviews, and revises standards of care, policies, procedures, practice guidelines, classes, and protocols of care to reflect currentevidence-based practice and changing technology.
- May develop patient education materials that are easy-to-read/understand and culturally sensitive to ensure clinicians have the resources essential to support the educationalneed of the patient,family and community. Utilizes all available platforms including written,electronic and web-based services to provide education and promotelearning including collaboration with other organizations on language access services to encompass diverse patient populations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accreditedinstitution.
- Licensure / Certification: Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio; Professional certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of1 year recent experience in area of specialization preferred.
