Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to work a 2 year construction project in Orange County New York. In this vital role, you will enforce compliance with OSHA's 29 CFR 1926 construction standard, by fostering a culture of safety awareness and you will empower employees to operate confidently and responsibly while minimizing risks and incidents.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses to identify potential risks and prevent accidents.
- Investigate workplace incidents thoroughly; prepare detailed report writing to document findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response plans as per the site's HASP (Health & Safety Plan) and ensure all team members are aware of emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with the contractor's management to develop continuous improvement strategies for HS (Health & Safety) on a ongoing basis .
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- OSHA 30 Hour Training required.
- Proven ability to conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues behind safety incidents.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting investigations, inspections, and compliance audits.
- Effective communication skills to deliver engaging safety sessions and facilitate teamwork across the site.
