About This Role
The Augustana Early Learning Center is an outreach ministry that welcomes all children. We provide a clean, safe, and nurturing environment that promotes learning and enhances well-being. We are seeking a Lead Toddler teacher to support our toddler room. The ideal candidate is nurturing, energetic, and passionate about working with toddler-age children.
What You'll Do

Nurture each child's well-being and support their learning

Facilitate daily development through storytelling, music, and educational play

Assist in developing and executing a creative program for toddler children

Observe each child to increase social competencies and build self-esteem at age-appropriate levels

Organize nap and meal hours, and supervise children to ensure their safety

Encourage children to interact positively with other similar-aged children

Responsible for hygiene practices for children, including washing hands, proper bathroom procedures, and diapering

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment consistent with health and safety standards

Daily communication with parents about their child's well-being and activities

Familiar with Colorado licensing rules and regulations for Child Care Centers
Requirements

Able to work with the children in the classroom setting and outdoors on the playground

Comfortable with soothing children who may be new to group care/comfort children when crying

Have successfully completed all coursework to qualify as a Lead Teacher, or be currently working towards completing that coursework

Regular attendance is essential for this position

Ability to lift 35lbs

This position requires the physical ability to engage with children at their level, including assuming low postures such as kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, and sitting on the ground
