Job Description
The Ojibwe Language Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing community-based programming for both campus and the local community. The position will work with the Anishinaabe-gikendaasowinan staff and community stakeholders to develop and implement Ojibwe language programming that meets the grant objectives and goals.
This is an 8-year grant funded position.
Salary Range:
$24.40 - 35.30 hourly; $50,947 - 73,706 annually
Minimum Qualifications
- One or more years of experience facilitating language immersion camps, events, and activities
- Experience working with Tribal communities and people
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be able to pass full background check
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in American Indian Studies, Education or applicable field
- Proficiency in the Ojibwe language or demonstrated progress toward proficiency with a commitment to continued language learning and fluency development. Experience organizing and implementing Ojibwe cultural camps, events, and activities
- Experience working with the Fond du Lac Reservation
- Experience working with First Speakers and/or Knowledge Keepers
