Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) CDL Driver and take your driving career to new heights! Your expertise in handling various cargo types—including refrigerated, hazardous materials, flatbed, and tanker loads—will ensure timely deliveries and satisfied customers. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers on over-the-road routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Drive a variety of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers with manual or automatic transmissions.
- Navigate using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules efficiently.
- Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and security during transit.
- Handle logistics cargo with precision, managing hazardous materials according to hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards; report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and compliance records for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve route or cargo issues promptly.
- Must be able to pass drug screen
Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving over long distances.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, DOT safety standards, and logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is essential.
- Strong navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; previous experience in freight or hazardous goods transportation is a plus.
- Physical ability to handle truck loading/unloading tasks safely; must pass DOT physical requirements.
