Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage reservations using OpenTable or similar systems, and seat guests promptly to optimize restaurant flow
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, utilizing POS, and communicate special requests clearly to the kitchen staff
- Provide attentive service throughout the dining experience, upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables efficiently, handling food safely, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support when needed, demonstrating versatility in food handling and food industry knowledge
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately during cashiering duties while ensuring guest relations remain positive and professional
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service delivery, manage wait times effectively, and uphold the restaurant’s high standards of hospitality
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or waitstaff preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and sales upselling techniques
- Experience in food service or hospitality industry roles that involve serving, bussing, or guest relations is highly desirable
