Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Headquartered in Owings Mills, MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and is a producer of both locally and nationally distributed TV programs and digital content.

The Managing Director of Production services directs and oversees the high-level business, operational, and financial strategies required to execute production. This position provides the infrastructure and resources necessary to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Allocate studio space, equipment, staff and freelance talent pools to ensure multiple projects run concurrently and efficiently
- Develop and implement overarching department budgets, forecasting spending, and managing payroll and client billing
- Supervising production crews, technical directors, and production facility managers and handle contracts
Designing, developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and digital systems to maximize productivity, operational efficiency output and quality

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: Minimum seven (7) years of experience of executive/operational experience in production, with proficiency in budgeting, team leadership and workflow optimization.
Note:
Experience may be substituted on a year-by-year basis for up to four years of education from an accredited College or University in a related field
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred
qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your

- Experience working for a nonprofit media station
- Experience with videography, studio and field production, and digital media asset management (MAM systems.
- Experience with professional non-linear editing (NLE) and post production systems such as Adobe Pro, Avid, or Davinci Resolve
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
