Job Summary
We are seeking a Firearms Manager to lead our firearms department. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring strict ATF and regulatory compliance, and managing a team of sales associates. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of firearms, strong leadership skills, and a passion for the outdoor lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Safety: Lead all firearm safe handling and safety standards. Ensure 100% accuracy and compliance with ATF, state, and federal laws, including 4473 forms and FFL transfers.
- Team Leadership: Interview, hire, and train department associates. Coordinate weekly work schedules and provide ongoing coaching on product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Manage inventory levels, stock counts, and department appearance. Execute merchandising plans and ensure products are displayed effectively.
- Customer Experience: Resolve customer and associate issues professionally. Help customers make informed buying decisions through expert product recommendations.
- Store Operations: Act as "Manager on Duty," including opening and closing the store and managing building security.
Qualifications
- Experience: Ideal candidate has experience in retail management, specifically with firearms and ammunition.
- Knowledge: Expert understanding of firearm mechanics, classification, and safe handling practices.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Experience with ATF compliance and required federal/state documentation.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency with inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.
