About the Role:
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide personalized support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with daily living activities: supporting individuals with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
Developing and implementing individualized plans: working with individuals to create personalized support plans that align with their unique needs and goals
Providing behavioral support: using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage positive behavior and reduce challenging behavior
Facilitating community integration: supporting individuals in accessing community resources, participating in social activities, and pursuing recreational interests
Requirements:
Passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities: a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others
Compassion, empathy, and understanding: the ability to provide sensitive and supportive care to individuals with diverse needs
Effective communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues
