Rapid Door & Trim is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our DFH team. This position provides direct support to Project Managers on multiple construction projects while offering the opportunity to develop the knowledge and experience needed to independently manage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with change order (CO) pricing, project detailing, submittal preparation, and other project documentation.
- Perform administrative duties including project research, customer communication, document management, and job-related paperwork.
- Assist in managing project schedules by coordinating with general contractors, architects, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Review customer plans, specifications, and project documents, then summarize key information and communicate findings to the Project Manager.
- Procure materials and labor while ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery.
- Prepare and provide weekly reports on critical project and office issues, including tracking items such as pinks, packs, negatives, and other project metrics.
- Maintain organized and accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in construction, project coordination, estimating, purchasing, or administrative support is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and project specifications.
- Knowledge of Division 8 (Openings) and Division 10 (Specialties) products is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and comfortable learning and using construction-related software and computer applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and internal team members.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Persistent, resourceful, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
Candidates must reside within the local commuting area and be able to work on-site at our office during regular business hours.
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week.
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8AM - 5PM; Friday 8AM-2:30PM
Salary: $50,000 - $58,000 DOE plus health benefit reimbursement plan, paid time off and SIMPLE IRA retirement program
