Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for pediatric clients in a clinical therapy center setting.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for children with communication, speech, language, social-pragmatic, and/or feeding-related needs, as appropriate within the provider’s scope of practice.
- Provide direct speech therapy services to children with a variety of developmental, communication, articulation, fluency, language, and social communication needs.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, therapists, and other professionals to support continuity of care and promote generalization of skills across settings.
- Document client progress, maintain accurate treatment notes, and update goals based on ongoing data and clinical observations.
- Educate parents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication, language development, and functional skill acquisition at home and in the community.
- Participate in treatment planning, progress reviews, and interdisciplinary collaboration as needed.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication development, and related therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to conduct assessments, interpret results, and develop individualized treatment recommendations.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, articulation disorders, language disorders, and social communication deficits.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches based on each child’s needs, developmental level, and treatment goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address communication challenges and support meaningful progress.
- Ability to maintain professional documentation and comply with clinical, ethical, and regulatory requirements.
