Overview
LaScala Restaurant Group is growing, and we're looking for a Staff Accountant to own a meaningful piece of our accounting operations while working alongside a growing, multi-location team. You'll get real ownership of key processes and broad exposure across the business, with room to grow as we scale. A year from now, you'll have taken ownership of key components of our monthly close, built strong working relationships with operations partners, and gained hands-on experience across multiple entities. You'll be a go-to contributor on the accounting team as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Own key components of the monthly close process, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and maintain balance sheet schedules with audit-ready support
- Support and help maintain intercompany accounting and reconciliations across multiple entities
- Record and review accruals, prepaids, and general ledger activity
- Analyze transactions for proper coding, consistency, and adherence to accounting policies
- Prepare and deliver store-level financial reporting for operations partners
- Assist with cash, payroll, and other operational accounting functions as needed
- Collaborate with operations across a growing, multi-location business
- Support process improvements and system enhancements as the accounting team scales
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct detailed account analysis using Excel data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or variances.
- Perform payroll management tasks using systems like isolved maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Reconcile accounts on the balance sheet and general ledger to ensure consistency across financial statements.
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and preparing reports for management review.
Requirements

- Familiarity with payroll management systems
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working across multiple entities, tight deadlines, and competing priorities
- Strong to advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills
- Self-starter with a hands-on approach and desire to grow in a scaling company
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
- Experience in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or other multi-unit environments

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
