Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Control Officer to maintain safety, security, and order within our detention facility. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent conflict management skills, and the ability to handle challenging situations professionally. The Control Officer will be responsible for monitoring inmates through cameras and intercom systems, ensuring facility security, and enforcing rules and regulations. Duties
- Monitor inmate activity through CCTV systems and intercom systems to ensure safety and security.
- Operate door systems to allow a timely response of Detention Officers to emergencies and incidents.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and inmate behavior accurately.
- Schedule visitors to the appropriate rooms within the facility at the appropriate times.
- Maintain communication with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth facility operations.
- Uphold professional standards of conduct at all times, demonstrating integrity and respect for all individuals.
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, military service, or detention facilities is preferred but not mandatory.
- Certification or training in CCTV operation, door systems, and conflict management is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- Excellent communication skills for clear and effective interaction with inmates, staff, and external agencies. This position offers a vital role in maintaining public safety within our community by ensuring the secure operation of our detention facilities through diligent supervision and professional conduct.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
