Tenkaippin was founded as a small food stall in Kyoto in 1971, our restaurant is renowned for its unique and rich “kotteri” ramen that has become one of a kind in Japan. We will be the very first store in the United States and here to LA offering high-quality dishes made with fresh chicken base ingredients. We take pride in our friendly team atmosphere and dedication to great food and service. We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Line Cook to join our back-of-house team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for food and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall dining experience.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Assist in menu planning, ensuring a diverse and appealing selection of dishes.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Handle food products with care, demonstrating excellent knife skills and culinary techniques.
- Support catering operations as needed, including preparation and serving of meals for events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and storage spaces.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food service practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Must be punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Food Handler’s certificate
- Experience in catering services is a plus, along with a passion for delivering high-quality meals.
Work Conditions
- Hours: Up to 32 hours/week
- Must be able to work holidays
- Must be able to work weekends
- Must be able to work late hours (Friday & Saturday up to 3:00am)
- Salary: $19/hour start, can go up to $22/hour with experience
