Tax Manager
Dallas, Texas | Hybrid
A stronger next step without an unsustainable workload
Progressing in public accounting should not mean accepting that every year becomes harder to manage.
This Tax Manager opportunity offers a different kind of step forward.
You would be joining a nationally recognized, mid sized CPA firm with a strong reputation in Dallas, a broad client base, and a collaborative working environment.
Busy season hours are typically around 55 hours per week. Summer hours are reduced, hybrid working provides greater flexibility, and mentorship is treated as part of the role rather than something you have to seek out alone.
For a Tax Manager who wants to keep developing without moving into a larger, more impersonal structure, this could be a sensible next step.
What could improve for you
You will gain broader client exposure and more opportunity to strengthen your advisory skills.
You will receive clearer support for your continued development and progression.
You will work in a firm that is large enough to offer strong resources, varied work, and a recognized name, while remaining accessible and grounded.
Your contribution will still be visible, and you will have access to experienced professionals who can support your technical and leadership development.
The role offers the chance to keep progressing without creating a working pattern that becomes difficult to sustain.
The work
Your focus will be primarily on reviewing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and S Corporations.
The client base includes high net worth individuals, family offices, healthcare professionals, and businesses across several industries.
This variety will give you exposure to different structures, planning needs, and commercial challenges.
You will also have opportunities to deepen client relationships, improve your advisory approach, and become more involved in conversations beyond routine compliance.
Why the firm is worth considering
Busy season hours are typically around 55 hours per week.
Reduced summer hours provide more breathing room after deadline season.
Hybrid working gives you greater flexibility during the week.
Healthcare and education benefits are included.
The firm offers a competitive 401(k) match.
Mentorship and internal progression are actively supported.
You will gain strong client exposure without becoming lost in a much larger firm structure.
Who this role may suit
This opportunity is likely to suit a Tax Manager with strong public accounting experience who is confident reviewing individual, partnership, and S Corporation returns.
You may be looking for broader client exposure, more involvement in advisory work, or a firm that takes your development more seriously.
You may also want your next move to feel progressive without creating an unsustainable lifestyle.
The firm is looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable, comfortable working with clients, and interested in continuing to grow.
