Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will be essential to our success. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo with precision and care
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times while considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with federal and state regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid CDL Class A license
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Prior delivery driver experience involving load & unload operations using forklifts or other equipment preferred
- Knowledge of route driving best practices, safety procedures, and freight handling standards
- Familiarity with federal regulations governing commercial trucking operations (such as Hours of Service rules)
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot common issues
