Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based curricula that support early childhood education, special education, and literacy development.
- Design and adapt instructional modifications to meet individual student needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders, speech or language delays, and other developmental disabilities.
- Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring a positive behavior management environment that fosters social-emotional growth and engagement.
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, parents, and other educators to create comprehensive support plans aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education law.
- Utilize educational technology tools to enhance lesson planning, instruction, and student assessment.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through standardized testing, formative evaluations, and observational data collection.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student development, behavior management strategies, communication with families, and compliance with educational standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood or elementary school settings, particularly those with disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, behavior management techniques, and IEP processes.
- Expertise in speech therapy techniques, literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development tailored for diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills for parent-teacher conferences, team collaboration, and community engagement.
- Ability to integrate educational technology effectively into daily lessons for enhanced learning experiences.
- Skilled in classroom management strategies that promote a safe and inclusive environment conducive to learning.
- Familiarity with behavioral health approaches such as behavioral therapy and autism spectrum disorder support strategies.
