Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Your expertise will help create engaging lesson plans, support individual learning needs, and mentor fellow educators to ensure every child receives the highest quality education. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and preschool methodologies.
- Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math, behavioral health, and social skills while ensuring an inclusive environment for children with diverse needs.
- Conduct assessments of student progress through observations, standardized testing, and documentation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support children with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health challenges.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to foster positive learning experiences.
- Mentor and support fellow teachers and teaching assistants by sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and special education strategies.
- Maintain detailed records of student development, IEP goals, communication logs, and progress reports to ensure compliance with educational regulations.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or special education settings, including preschool or private school environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and behavioral health practices.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder or other learning differences.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, standardized testing procedures, and behavior management techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and specialists to support student success.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading teams of educators is highly desirable.
- Certification or training in speech therapy, behavioral therapy, or related fields is a plus but not required; relevant coursework or professional development is valued.
