Job Description:
As a Seasonal Chef , you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for campers, rental groups and staff. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious and delicious meals for our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a creative flair, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of campers and staff
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with food safety standards and camp policies
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain kitchen cleanliness
- Work closely with camp leadership to accommodate special dietary requirements and food allergies
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide training as needed
- Currently have full support and prep staff in place
- Foster a positive and inclusive dining atmosphere for campers and staff
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef or cook in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines
- Understanding of food safety principles and sanitation regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of a summer camp environment
- Current certification in food handling and safety (e.g., ServSafe) is a plus
