We are seeking a dedicated tutor to provide one-on-one, in-person academic support to K–12 students in Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga, CA, with sessions held in student homes or local libraries.
This position offers approximately 6–10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling coordinated directly between the tutor and the student’s parent or guardian at mutually agreed-upon times.
Students bring the materials they need assistance with, and tutors provide support across all school-related subjects, helping reinforce comprehension, organization, and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one, in-person tutoring sessions in home or library settings.
- Support students using student-provided curriculum and materials across a variety of academic subjects.
- Reinforce effective study skills, problem-solving strategies, and independent learning habits.
- Adapt instructional support to each student’s academic level, learning style, and goals.
- Coordinate tutoring schedules directly with parents or guardians in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and student safety in all in-home or community settings.
- Track attendance and document student progress through Thrive Academics’ internal systems.
- Communicate regularly with Thrive Academics staff regarding scheduling, student progress, and any concerns.
Position Requirements:
- Communication: Must be able to collaborate via phone, email etc. to complete expected job requirements
- Education:* 60 completed* college credits (or currently enrolled in college/university).
- Experience: Prior experience as a tutor.
- Skills: Comfortable working with children in a classroom setting
- Clearances: Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ background check.
- Submit negative TB results
- Complete C*hild Abuse Mandated R*eporter training (CAMR)
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient in Math and English/Language Arts
- Must have a functioning device (computer/laptop/tablet)
We are currently seeking a tutor who is available to support students during one or more of the following time slots:
- Monday at 2:00 PM – 1st Grade Student (Rialto)
- Thursday at 5:00 PM – 9th Grade Student (Rialto)
- Friday at 12:30 PM – 1st Grade Student (Rialto)
- Friday at 4:30 PM – 5th Grade Student (Rancho Cucamonga)
Applicants do not need to be available for all sessions; however, availability for multiple time slots is preferred.

- Bilingual Spanish/English is a PLUS

- Demonstrated expertise and strong proficiency in advanced high school math subjects
Pay: $25.00 per hour
