Position Overview
We are a professional CPA firm seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Accounting Assistant to join our team. This position combines administrative responsibilities with accounting-related support and is ideal for someone who has prior accounting or bookkeeping experience and enjoys working in a professional, client-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with financial information, managing multiple priorities, communicating with clients, and providing administrative support to accountants and other team members. Previous accounting experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide administrative and accounting support to CPAs and staff
· Assist with bookkeeping, data entry, account reconciliations, and other accounting-related tasks
· Organize and maintain client financial records and documentation
· Assist with preparation and processing of tax-related and accounting documents
· Communicate professionally with clients by phone and email
· Request and follow up on documents and information needed from clients
· Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
· Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents
· Scan, organize, file, and securely maintain confidential client records
· Assist with billing, accounts receivable, and payment processing as needed
· Provide front-office support, including answering phones and greeting clients
· Support the firm during tax season and other high-volume periods
· Perform additional administrative and accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or similar financial experience required
· Experience working in a CPA, accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or professional-services office preferred
· Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and terminology
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general office technology
· Experience with QuickBooks and/or accounting or tax software is a plus
· Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Professional and courteous approach to client service
· Ability to handle confidential financial and personal information with discretion
· Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
