American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a General Surgery unit working night shifts with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Work in a 32-bed General Surgery unit focused on postoperative care
-
Night shift position: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required as scheduled
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
-
Care includes postoperative pain management, mobility support, and bedside procedures
-
Floating to other units and hospitals is required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
-
13-week contract
-
Active AL RN license or compact license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed

Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience

Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher

NURSYS license verification required for consideration

Current driver's license required for consideration

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Provide postoperative care to general surgical patients in collaboration with surgeons, hospitalists, and family practice physicians

Team collaborates closely with local physicians and surgeons to support individualized patient recovery
-
Virtual orientation provided, including competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required

Solid navy scrubs required
